It is our strong preference that students stay on site during the lunch break. We have a cashless, biometric system and a good choice of reasonably-priced food available from the cafeteria.
Students can also take part in clubs or other organised activities, use the library, ICT rooms, or remain in and around the school buildings. We provide a relaxed and supervised environment.
A student may only leave the school grounds during the lunch break to return home if a letter from parents, seeking permission, has been given to their Head of Year. In such cases a lunch pass will be issued.
Students will be the responsibility of parents whilst they are out of school.
We also run a Breakfast Club which serves toast, cereals and breakfast drinks in the cafeteria between 7.50am-8.20am.
The Pingle Academy operates an in-house cafeteria-style catering system. We also operate cashless catering using biometric (fingerprint) recognition. The Sixth Form has its separate cash cafeteria.

To ensure that students choose a balanced nutritious lunch, meal deals will be served at all counters at a set price. Many food items, including desserts, will not be sold separately and will only be available in the inclusive meal deal.
There will be a choice of meal deals available daily. The students will need £1.85 for a main course lunch, and £2.35 for a main course and a dessert. Extra money will be required for any additional items such as drinks, bread, or to purchase food at morning break.
