The changed regulations on holidays in term time have changed (June 2013). This is a national decision and out of our hands. We do believe that students make faster progress if they are in school for the full 190 school days each year. In the past, we have been allowed a little flexibility to grant time off for holidays if there are specific circumstances. We are no longer allowed to do this and I wanted to prepare you to help your forward planning. We can now only give permission for time off for exceptional circumstances and this does not include family holidays. I know this will come as a blow to some families. One of our governors is now considering any applications for time off under the new rules to ensure these are fairly applied. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
