Over the past year we have be celebrating our 50th birthday.

Our final event of the year ended with HM Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire, Mr William Tucker unveiling our 50th anniversary mosaic, which has been installed at the front of school.  Chairman of South Derbyshire Council, Mr Pat Murray also attended the event, alongside former staff, current staff, parents and friends.

The project funded by the Needwood branch of the National Federation of Decorative and Fine Arts Society involved our Year 9 students and artist Peter Massey working together to design and create the mosaic.  Mrs Sheila Woods of NADFAS was presented with a bouquet as a thank you for her continued support of art at The Pingle School.

We would also like to thank the PTFA for providing additional funding towards the project, Mrs Sarah Taylor and the Art Department and to Mrs Rachel Webster and our Year 9 cooks who created a super buffet for all our guests.

Happy 50th Birthday The Pingle School!
