Welcome to our website, which aims to give you a flavour of our caring and inclusive school community. Students join us at 11 years of age from a range of primary schools and the majority remain with us until they have completed their A Levels.
The true quality of what we offer can only really be experienced by visiting us. Please contact my PA, Kathryn Wagstaff, who will arrange for you to see a normal school day in action if you wish to find out more.
We are proud of our students and what they are achieving in and outside of the classroom. Learning and progress are the foundation stones of our school. This year’s Year 11 students achieved the school’s best ever GCSE results and have set the standard for future year groups. Our Year 13 students leave us each year for a range of top universities, including Oxford and Cambridge.
We aim to give every student a flying start in English and Mathematics and we offer a broad and balanced curriculum. All of our students study Science courses tailored to their abilities, leading to a range of Science qualifications at GCSE. Progress is carefully tracked and monitored in all subjects to ensure all students make rapid progress from their starting points. We have a very wide range of GCSE and A Level options, excellent support for students with Special Educational Needs and disabilities and a wealth of extra-curricular and enrichment opportunities so that every student can shine and be the best that they can be.
We aim to prepare students academically, socially and morally for their future life and this is summed up in our mission statement:
A place for everyone
RESPECT | ENGAGE | SUCCEED
We are proud of our school. It is a happy school, which serves our community well and is going from strength to strength. Come and see for yourself. You will be most welcome.
